Its time for our first blog of 2025!!

First off, Happy new year to everyone reading and welcome to any new reader's! This is the Hunters Moon Games Development blog, where we share more details and insight in what we are doing as a company whilst we work on our first game "Dreaded Wunder", a psychological horror game set in our home city of Norwich, UK.

Today's blog will be about our Journey in Dundev, What we have created/worked on during the program as well as our plans going ahead in 2025.

Dundev

Participating in the Dundev program has been an amazing journey for our team. Dundev offers invaluable support to indie developers, and we’ve made significant progress over the past month thanks to the resources and mentorship provided.

One of the highlights of our Dundev journey was the recent “Drop in and Play” event at the DCA on January 18th. This event provided us with valuable player feedback, insights from our target audience, and another chance to observe firsthand how players interact with "Dreaded Wunder". It was an incredible experience that will help continuing to guide our development going forward.

We’ve also had the pleasure of hanging out with the other teams from DunDev (PurrPoint Productions, Tombstone Studios and Rubber Ducky Snacks) , sharing experiences, and learning from one another.

Another special highlight was our trip to Edinburgh, where we soaked in the creative atmosphere and gathered plenty of inspiration for the months ahead. From going up a large hill with a tower, where some of the team looked out onto the city's skyline.

New Level

During our time in Dundee, we started working on the next level of "Dreaded Wunder." The progress is significant, largely due to Daniel's skill in efficiently blocking it out, which enables him to smoothly integrate the assets designed by Alice. This collaboration has fostered a creative synergy that has propelled the project forward at an impressive pace. As we continue to refine the gameplay mechanics, we are also exploring new narrative elements that will deepen the player's engagement with the story. Additionally, the vibrant atmosphere of Dundee has inspired us to innovate further, allowing us to think outside the box and experiment with unique design choices. With each iteration, we are excited to see how our vision for "Dreaded Wunder" evolves into a captivating experience for players.

Here's a very small sneak preview of the level!

Assets

Talking about Alice and Asset's she has been swiftly working on all the new assets needed by Daniel and Ryan for the upcoming puzzle and level! Ensuring that all the assets are to a quality she is happy with to put into the game.

Dann has been creating a new entity for the game, something you may have seen if you attended the event at the Mcmanus on 29/01/25! We will show that model in a later blog or on our social media so keep an eye out for that!

New year plans!

Into the new year, we plan on continuing to work on "Dreaded Wunder" pushing our IP further into finishing the game! We will keep everyone updated with what happens with Dundev once we find out ourselves. Each month we will be posting at least one blog post this year, keeping you updated with our content, news and generally where the game/company is going.
